Remembering Caridad and her legacy!
Caridad was an exceptional human being, a leader with a very kind heart, and a wonderful role model to many lives she touched. Besides being a very committed and an active member of her church, she was an exceptional resource to the needy in our community and guiding light to her partner of over 25 years, who still misses her and feels her loss, and considers her irreplaceable!
Caridad was a people’s person from an early age, who loved giving a helping to someone, anyone in need. She was the type of person that would take the shirt of her back to help anyone. Soon that led to the formation of several charities through with she shared her blessings with others.
Throughout her adult life and until the sunset of her life, she demonstrated time and time again her willing to help others. Her personality was larger than life and sense of humor and smile was contagious. Her way of valuing and acceptance of every human being is what made her so special and unforgettable.
Kindness towards another and fulfillment of others basic needs no matter how big or small it may be, was her hallmark! She always came through for others using her communitywide recognition, respect, and connections and obtained positive resolutions and that’s her legacy.

Mission Statement:
To further its purpose of existence and to make a positive impact, Guiding Light Community Services, Inc., shall utilize available resources such as its volunteer board leadership and dedicated staff to seek public and private resources to address certain health and human services need within its services area, including end of life services for indigent, working poor, low-income population such as families with children and adults, adolescents, and older adults, individuals with physical, mental, emotional and developmental disabilities, and special needs.

The ultimate goal of our programs is to provide helping hand to address individualized need with passion, care and dignity.
